„The luck of the Irish” – this common phrase doesn’t only characterise the Irish but also our grand week in Dublin / Dun Loaghaire.

Ireland’s weather, generally known for quite a bunch of rain, thrilled us with bright and sunny days.

Our week included:

  • Visiting famous sights, e.g. Trinity College with the Book of Kells, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Museum Dublinia, Kilmainham Gaol, the Cliffs of Moher and Galway.
  • Language classes at the DLTC (Dun Loaghaire Tuition Centre)
  • Irish dancing evening

And BEST OF ALL:

  • A visit to an Irish secondary modern school, the Temple Carrig School in Greystones, for a cultural and language exchange (Erasmus+ project). There we attended German and English lessons, got involved in Irish sports (e.g. hurling), discussed differences between the Irish and Austrian school systems and school rules with TY (transition year) students, and participated in a dance rehearsal for their musical “Fake Town” (= ”Hairspray”).

An unforgettable experience we will always remember and which our 6M students describe in superlatives as follows:
