This May, our class 4M went on an unforgettable school trip to one of the world’s most beautiful cities: London! Together with our teachers, Cornelia Petzl and Evelyn Haselmayr, we explored London’s vibrant streets and iconic landmarks.

Our journey began on May 5th. We took off from Vienna International Airport and landed at London Stansted Airport. Although we were very tired, we still had the energy to walk around Hyde Park. The park is huge and a great place to relax or go for a walk.

On Tuesday, we visited the Tower of London, where we met the “Beefeaters” and saw the famous Crown Jewels and other royal treasures. In the afternoon, we had a tour of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Witnessing a rehearsal there was a truly magical experience.

The next day, we took a boat tour to Greenwich, where we stood on the Prime Meridian. On the way, we admired the beautiful buildings along the Thames. After our short trip to Greenwich, we went to the observation deck at “Horizon 22,” located in the second tallest skyscraper in London. In the evening, we watched The Lion King musical, which thrilled us all.

Thursday was the most exhausting but also the most exciting day. We had a guided tour of the city with a local woman as our guide. She showed us many famous sights such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, and many more. Our personal highlight was seeing King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Catherine on their way to Westminster Abbey for a mass. After the tour, we went shopping on Oxford Street and visited Piccadilly Circus in the evening.

Friday was our last day in London. We went to Hyde Park again, where we relaxed, read books, and fed squirrels. At noon, we made our way to London Stansted Airport. Our journey ended at Linzer Hauptbahnhof, where we said our goodbyes and went home. We had a wonderful time together, and we will never forget this amazing trip.
